Location Notes: A do-not-miss location within walking distance of Union Square, 44 Montgomery towers over the streets. MacLean noted that Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves completed 3 jumps on their own; the rest were completed by stunt doubles. They jumped off the NE corner of the building (noted above) from a platform used to attach window washers. There were 8 safety harnesses running between 44 Montgomery and a nearby building and drones in the air.

​Walk down Sutton Street, starting at Montgomery to be right under where they jumped. Walk along Montgomery St. and turn left onto Market St. to get the shot with the helicopter and the bullets dropping.

Location Notes: Combine a visit to this location with a meal at House of Nanking (or if you love Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, this is a location from that movie as well). Neo looks into the sun just steps from the restaurant. You'll also see Cafe Zoetrope, visible in the film, a European (Italian) cafe named after Francis Ford Coppola's production company, American Zoetrope.

Location Notes: This location is very close to where Thomas gets drunk and attempts to jump (the black building to the left in the adjacent shot). It's not possible to see the little tower from the ground.

Location Notes: This is a Chase bank building on California Street. It's difficult to see all the details from the ground but you can rest assured that Thomas tried to jump here!

STravel Tips: The photos above are from Google Earth, but the ledge and the building beside the figure are visible. In the movie, Semblance affected Neo's DSI in the Matrix which is why we see a bald man here. It was producer James McTeigue. Location manager MacLean explained that Bugs window-washing when she sees Neo here was CGI.

Location Notes: This location is at the City Club of San Francisco building at Pine and Sansome Streets. It is the side of the same building which contains the lobby where Trinity and Neo fought off bullets before backing into an elevator. 

Location Notes: There is a gorgeous view of this bridge from Pier 14 and on Russian Hill (where the Analyst works and where we took this picture). The bridge was also part of an establishing shot at the beginning of the film (left).

Location Notes: If you'd like to follow Tiff on her bike, cross the Oakland Bay Bridge heading north-east toward Oakland. Please do not take pictures/video when actively driving. This is also the bridge where the beautiful pattern of birds flys over throughout the film.

Location Notes: Stand on Pine St looking east and orient by the Lens Crafters. The shot is probably best taken from in the street, but please be careful. The building is the Pacific Gas & Electric Co at 245 Market St. Click on the category 'The Chase' on the right to see the whole sequence.

Location Notes: Sansome Street is very close to Simulatte (Joe & the Juice). As the chase sequence uses many images from different parts of these streets, it can be hard to piece together. Look for the 7-11, the Bank of the Orient, the Bank of Guam, and the Adam Grant building. The 7-11 is particularly fun as they crash right in front it!
